A light-based
(only) repeating signal, consists of the
pole (painted in white or grey) and the head with
three cells inside (three lights). The cells are
placed in the following order: orange, green, and
white. The white light is always on, while the
green or the orange depends on the signal reflected
on the main semaphore.
- Repeating
semaphore is named according to the following
rules:
- first are 'Sp'
letters indicating the repeating signal ('Sp'
means repeating signal - 'sygnal
powtarzajacy' in Polish)
- then is the Roman
number determining how many repeating
semaphores are placed before main semaphore.
If there's 'III" that means three
repeating semaphores are set before the main
semaphore and this is the third (then will be
'II' and finally 'I', and then - main
semaphore). No more than three repeaters are
allowed for each separate main semaphore.
- the name of the
repeated semaphore is at the end of the whole
set
- besides, the
additional plate with Roman number indicating
how many 'repeaters' are before the main
semaphore is put on the pole below the name.
'Repeaters' are used
when the main semaphore cannot be noticed from the
necessary distance by the loco-engineer (for example
when the main semaphore is after curve or when
platform roof makes the main semaphore impossible to
notice).
